India’s Passport Now Ranks Higher As Citizens Can Travel To 57 Countries Without A Visa

According to the latest report published by the Henley Passport Index, India’s passport now ranks higher than the previous year, placing India at the 80th spot, up five places from its position in 2022. Indian nationals can now travel to 57 countries without a visa, which is an improvement for Indian passport holders. The Passport Index is an interactive online tool that displays, sorts, and ranks the world’s passports based on their visa-free access and visa-on-arrival facilities.

Currently, Singapore holds the top position in the index, making it the world’s most powerful passport, with its holders enjoying visa-free access to 192 destinations out of a total of 199. Japan, which was the strongest passport for five years, has dropped to third place, as the number of countries its passport holders can access without a visa decreased. Germany, Italy, and Spain hold the second position, providing visa-free access to 190 destinations.

It’s important to note that while Indian passport holders can travel to 57 countries visa-free, they still require a visa to enter 177 destinations worldwide, including countries like the United States, China, Russia, Japan, and European Union countries.

Indian citizens can visit 57 nations without a visa, including:

Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, El Salvador, Fiji, Gabon, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Macao (SAR China), Madagascar, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niue, Oman, Palau Islands, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Somalia, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Togo, Trinidad, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Zimbabwe
