Statements should be drawn from a current account that reflect the salary the applicant is getting. If the applicant is employed, he/she should attach a recent letter from the employer Travel medical insurance must be valid for the duration of travel. The minimum amount of the insurance coverage is 30,000 (thirty thousand) Euros and it must be valid in the whole territory of the Schengen Member States or worldwide. A motivational letter explaining why the applicant has chosen France (and other countries within the Schengen Member State territory, if applicable) as the destination. If applicant is under 18 years of age (minor): A full birth certificate disclosing the names of (both) parents must always be presented. The applicant's guardian must bring the original birth certificate to the VAC and attach a certified copy to the application set. Certification must be done at the South African Police Service or at a Commissioner of Oaths. A certified copy of the parents' ID (legal guardians' ID) is required.

A letter from your employer/school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that you will be returning to your current job. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund. Business Letter. Original business letter from the host company in France explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel and guaranteeing sufficient funds.
