The United Arab Emirates (UAE) unveiled the “Work Bundle” platform, designed to simplify and expedite these procedures.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of the Work Bundle platform. He emphasized its role in facilitating and shortening the processes for residency and work permits within the country.

Previously, acquiring work permits and residency work visas in Dubai could be a time-consuming endeavor, often taking up to 30 days and involving the submission of a daunting stack of 16 documents. However, with the introduction of the Work Bundle platform, the processing time has been dramatically reduced to just five days, requiring only five documents from applicants. Additionally, the number of visits to work visa centers has been minimized from seven to just two days, significantly saving applicants’ time and effort.

The implementation of the “Work Bundle” aligns with the UAE government’s commitment to “Zero Bureaucracy,” aimed at simplifying governmental procedures and providing proactive services. Initially launched through the “Invest in Dubai” platform, the first phase of the Work Bundle will be gradually expanded to encompass other government digital platforms.

The significance of this initiative extends to the Indian expatriate community, which forms the largest ethnic group in the UAE, comprising approximately 30 percent of the country’s population. With an estimated 3.5 million resident Indians in the UAE, this streamlined work visa process will undoubtedly benefit a significant portion of the Indian community, many of whom are employed in Dubai.

Moreover, recent developments, such as the introduction of a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Indians, highlight Dubai’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with India. This visa allows Indian nationals the convenience of multiple entries into Dubai over five years, with each stay permitted for up to 90 days.

The efficiency of the Work Bundle platform stems from its integration of procedures from various government entities involved in the work visa process, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. By consolidating these procedures under one platform, the Work Bundle eliminates the need for applicants to interact with multiple agencies.

While currently being implemented in Dubai, plans are underway to expand the Work Bundle platform to other emirates in the near future. This marks a significant step forward in simplifying administrative processes and enhancing the ease of doing business in the UAE.

Dubai has introduced a ground breaking initiative aimed at streamlining the process for obtaining work permits and residency work visas.
