The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has prolonged the initial registration window for the fiscal year (FY) 2025 H-1B cap. Initially slated to conclude at noon Eastern on March 22, 2024, the registration phase has been extended until noon Eastern on March 25, 2024.
Extension to Accommodate Registrants
This extension follows a temporary system outage experienced by certain registrants. USCIS has taken this step to accommodate those affected by providing extra time to complete the registration process.
Registration Process During Extension
During this extended period, prospective petitioners and their representatives, where applicable, must use a USCIS online account to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process. Moreover, they are obligated to submit the associated registration fee for each beneficiary.
Notification Timeline
USCIS remains steadfast in its commitment to notifying selected registrants by March 31, 2024, as stated in their official communication.
Introduction of my USCIS Organisational Accounts
On February 28, 2024, USCIS introduced the new my USCIS organisational accounts, aimed at streamlining collaboration among various individuals within an organisation and their legal representatives for H-1B Visa registrations, petitions, and associated Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service. Participation in this year’s H-1B Electronic Registration Process necessitates the creation of a new organisational account.
Support Initiatives by USCIS
In light of these changes, USCIS has also launched Tech Talks sessions in February 2024 to assist organisations and legal representatives in navigating the new process. These sessions offer a platform for individuals to seek clarification regarding organizational accounts and the online filing of Form I-129 for H-1B petitions.
