The Indonesian government has officially launched the Indonesia Golden Visa program as part of its efforts to attract foreign investors and boost the country’s economy. This program offers both corporate and individual investors the opportunity to obtain long-term stay permits.
For individual investors seeking an Indonesia Golden Visa, they are required to initiate a business venture in Indonesia with a minimum investment of US$2,500,000 (approximately Rp. 38 billion) to qualify for a 5-year stay permit. To secure a 10-year stay permit, a higher investment of US$5,000,000 (about Rp. 76 billion) is necessary.
Corporate investors, on the other hand, can obtain a 5-year Golden Visa for their directors and commissioners by investing US$25,000,000 (around Rp. 380 billion) in establishing a company in Indonesia. To qualify for a 10-year stay visa, a larger investment of US$50,000,000 is required.
Alternatively, foreign investors who do not intend to start a business in Indonesia can obtain an Indonesia Golden Visa by meeting different financial requirements. They need to deposit US$350,000 (approximately Rp. 5.3 billion) for a 5-year Golden Visa stay permit or US$700,000 (about Rp. 10.6 billion) for a 10-year stay permit. These funds can be used to invest in Indonesian government bonds, publicly traded company shares, or savings/deposits in Indonesia.
The government is currently in the process of finalizing the Golden Visa policy, including revising and preparing supporting regulations, which is expected to be completed within six months.
Holders of the Indonesia Golden Visa can enjoy various benefits, such as extended stay periods, simplified entry and exit procedures, and the elimination of the need for an ITAS (temporary stay permit) application at the immigration office upon arrival in Indonesia.
